Kristen D. Brown

Kristen Brown joined Kostin, Ruffkess& Co., LLC in 1999, and has developed extensive experience with accounting, auditing, and reporting issues concerning non-for-profit, municipal, and manufacturing industries. Her work with non-profit organizations includes a focus on capital campaigns, lobbying issues, private foundations, and unrelated business income tax. Prior to working at Kostin, Kristen was the senior accountant for a manufacturing firm. She earned a BS in Accounting from the University of Maryland. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada, and the Connecticut Government Finance Officers Association. She is chair of CSCPA Governmental Accounting and Auditing Committee, and serves on the Special Review Committee for the GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program.
